Background
- Sentience’s TentuPlay is AI-enabler where the integration of TentuPlay need to deep buried in the games so that result can be maximized and reach each of users.
- However, our clients and potential users are not capable to implement it within 1 week because they are usually from small or indie games with limited resources, even if the medium to big companies they are first timer in integration in AI platform. So the need of guidance to each use case are needed.
- At that time, we relied on manual instructions, primarily crafted for common game genres such as smart casual games or RPGs. However, as time passed, we realized that this approach was not sustainable and consumed resources from both our team and clients.
Process
- This project was considered the toughest among our internal projects. It involved organizing the whole structure and labeling events correctly, as well as coming up with many different users scenarios. As a product owner, I had to talk to many stakeholders involved and make sure the instructions were easy for everyone to understand.
- Collaborating with the technical director, we developed the beta version and extensively validated it through client meetings and user research. My role involved prioritizing and planning improvements, as well as devising methods to measure success upon launch to gather extensive feedback. We integrated two user tracking tools, Google Tag Manager and Amplitude, to identify user behavior and determine which features were most utilized.
- Once the beta version received sufficient validation, we launched https://docs.tentuplay.io/en/latest/ as the official guide for onboarding and troubleshooting for clients’ developers.
- Subsequently, we continued to enhance the documentation on a case-by-case basis and expanded our library of case studies to provide a comprehensive reference for our clients, aiding them in improving their games and serving as a valuable resource.
Challenges
Language barriers posed a challenge for me in a Korean company, especially since my proficiency in Korean was only at an intermediate level. Despite this, I discovered that flow diagrams and numbers serve as universal languages that everyone can easily understand. Being a foreigner in Seoul, I learned to think creatively about communication, ensuring that my intentions were well received. This experience taught me to adapt and think outside the box to effectively convey my ideas and contribute to the team's success.
